Executive Summary about Property Auctions By Mark Moyo

Purchasing surplus property at government auctions has been done for years. Many Americans have built their wealth by purchasing and reselling government surplus and land year after year. Instead of purchasing goods at retail or even wholesale prices from companies or ordinary stores, why not go to a government surplus property auction and possibly pick up the same piece of merchandise for a small fraction of the price?

Government auctions, especially surplus auctions, have proven to be an essential resource for individuals looking to acquire goods for pennies on the dollar for their business, and the great thing is, anybody can go to them. Any property the government does not need is considered “surplus.” Federal government agencies such as GSA oversee the sale of federal surplus property to civilians. GSA is the federal government’s procurement agent. When items are no longer needed by the federal government, they stretch our tax dollars by offering them for sale to the public. Aside from GSA there are many other federal and state government agencies and departments that also sell surplus property — state DOT department, and many others.

You might be asking yourself what types of items you could possibly find at a surplus property auction. Items generally range from automobiles and other vehicles to tools, industrial machinery, or office equipment. Most of the surplus vehicles GSA purchases are new and driven by government or state agency employees for official purposes. The vehicles are well maintained, have relatively low age and mileage and have desired features like automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes.

Tips For Today’s Property Auctions
Executive Summary about Property Auctions By Parmdeep Vadesha

Good news for novice property investors: auction sales. Nowadays, buying a first home or an investment property at an auction has undergone a paradigm shift. Property auctions have become a great way to purchase a property for a profit - especially since so many properties can be bought at a price well below market value.

Property auctions are fast becoming a popular alternative to the traditional route of having to go through estate agents. With the rise in the number of properties being repossessed due to restrictive interest rates, properties up for auction have also increased.

Property auctions have also seen more novice buyers coming in. Most people have become familiar with bidding, perhaps due to online sites like eBay and some TV shows. Joining auctions is no longer an intimidating experience. Professional investors, bargain hunters and first-time home buyers are now turning to auctions to find the perfect property at an affordable price.

A property auction is exciting for the seasoned bidder, but a daunting experience for the first-timer. An auction is a heady yet bewildering experience, definitely not for the faint of heart. Before embarking on your first property auction, keep these tips in mind:

* Research beforehand on the property for sale. Also, contact the auction for additional details.

* View the property or lot prior to the scheduled auction day. Ask local estate agents for the going market prices of the nearby properties to determine if the price asked for at the auction is fair and within the current market rate.

Most properties up for auction are required to have a Home Information Pack but not a Home Condition Report.

Government Auctions - The The Four Keys to Success

Executive Summary about Government Auctions By Richard Titmas

Government auctions are one of the best places to purchase nearly new merchandise for as much as 90% off list price. Many times these auctions are held monthly due to the cost of storing these items and the need to make room for future items. That is why an auction can be either a great source of wealth or for huge savings on a needed item.

There is a lot of money being made on items purchased through government auctions. Buyers become resellers within online auctions. It is a good possibility that they purchased a quantity of that item at a government auction for next to nothing. All over the web you see ads for purchasing cars at huge savings at government auctions. What most people don’t think about when it comes to items being sold at government auctions, is that merchandise available for bid are not always confiscated from some drug raid, or by the seizure of an item due to someone’s unfortunate need to payoff a lien. Many auctions contain merchandise such as computers, printers, copiers, and fax machines used in government offices all over the country. Fleet cars used n day to day activities, old law enforcement cars, etc. These items have to be surplussed, and by most jurisdictional laws, have to go to auction and sold to the highest bidder. These items are often sold by the pallet, but many times are sold individually. There are four basic keys that every auction bidder must be familiar with before buying at a government auction. I call these the four I’s, Inform, Investigate, Inspect, and Initiate.

1) Inform yourself of the various locations of these auctions, the items available within the auction, the time frame available to view the items, the true market value of the items that you intend to bid on, what is the expected means of payment, is there a fee involved with the purchase, are sales final, and who do you contact to ask these questions. Information is power, and power equals success.

2) Investigate the items that you intend to bid on thoroughly. What is the condition of the item? If you are buying a diamond ring, what is the quality of the diamond? If you are buying a car, what shape is the body?

3) Inspect the item that you are going to be bidding on. I like to see the items in person.

4) Initiate the purchase. Once you are comfortable with your decision, do not procrastinate, and do not hesitate. Know what you are willing to pay and stick to it. Be very weary of getting wrapped up in the bidding process and paying more than you originally planned

Good luck and good bidding.

By Anthony Lee

Buying a car nowadays is not a luxury anymore. With more than one thousand reasons to buy a car, more and more people are trying to find ways to buy their very own car.

And for those who cannot afford to buy new cars, they can opt for cars within their means by purchasing repossessed cars at car auctions.

Just like any other types of auctions, auto auctions involve vehicles, usually cars, of any model depending on their availability, and bidders.

Here, bidders try to challenge each other against a certain model or make. Buyer with the highest bid wins.

Repossessed cars being sold at car auctions are usually priced lower than their counterparts. This means that you can easily obtain a car even if you have only a little budget for it.

Then again, not all repossessed cars sold at auto auctions are the same. They may vary from the overall condition of the car down to its minor details.

Hence, it is important to learn the art of buying repossessed cars at auto auctions without having to spend more money. Here are some tips:

1. Check the performance stat of the dealer or seller

Background checking will enable you to scrutinize the seller about his reputation in the market. If he is good enough as a seller, then, you know that you are in safe hands when buying your repossessed car at auto auctions.

2. Do your homework

Before you go to an auction site, try to make some research first on the rules in auto auctions. Learn how a certain auction site can provide you with the information about the car that you want to buy.

3. Inspect thoroughly (best if you really know something about car mechanic)

Buying repossessed cars at auto auctions are usually sold as is. Meaning dealers or sellers did not even bother to repair or refurbish the car.

Hence, if there will be some defects on it, make sure you can drive the car home even with defects. So the best thing that you can do next time is to meticulously evaluate each detail.

4. Never believe what they say

Keep in mind that sellers can always say the nicest things here on earth just to sell the car. After all, what they are after for is to have the chance to get rid of the car and earn money that they need.

Hence, it is best not to listen to these endless sales talks. It is best that you become down to business instead of reacting to whatever the seller say.

Indeed, buying repossessed cars at auto auctions may not be that easy. But applying all these things will definitely be worth the trouble.

Public Auto Auction - Know Your Options When Looking For Auto Auctions

Executive Summary about Public Auto Auction By Calvin Anderson

If you are searching for a public auto auction in California, also known as the Golden State, there are several sources from where you can get information. One of your best sources is the Internet, where you can find a lot of websites that let you bid on their auctioned cars. You will be provided with a list of websites that offer car auctions. Public government offices also offer this kind of information, especially if the auctioned vehicles are from the government.

Car Auctions That Are Sponsored by the Government

It is not only car dealers and community organizations that are putting up used vehicles for resale. The government also sponsors car auctions. You can easily find such type of auto auction at 5950 Chiles Road, Davis, CA 95618. Government-sponsored auctions are usually comprised of cars that have been seized or confiscated. There are times when information regarding government vehicle auctions changes. This is why you have to confirm by verifying the schedule and venue of the auction before you go there.

Opt for Auctions That Let You Have Your Money Back

It is important to ensure that the auctioned vehicle comes with a money-back guarantee.

Read Car Auction Reviews

If you want to make sure that the dealer is offering a great line of used cars, read reviews. These reviews provide information such as the features of the auctioned cars. Reviewers know which car dealers or auctions sponsors in California have friendly staffs, are offering quick enterprise, and dealing out great cars. If you are looking for a reliable California public auto auction, you can read these reviews online or in your local dailies.

How to Find Police Auction Cars in Your City

Executive Summary about Police Auction By Monique Tarver

Police auctions cars are being sold everyday, all around the country for thousands less than what you would expect to pay at your typical car dealership. And I’m pretty sure that by now you’ve heard about all of the good deals you can get there. But, you probably just don’t know where to find one near you. Don’t worry though because this article will show you exactly where to look and by the time you’re done reading you will be able to find police car auction in your city within a matter of minutes.

The first and most obvious way to find police auctions is to directly call up the police department and ask them about their upcoming auctions. If they give you what you are looking for, good. The added bonus is that they also include listings for motorcycle, real estate, jewelry, etc. auctions. This is a real life saver if you value your time and sanity, which I’m pretty sure everyone does.

So, by now you’ve found out a couple of ways to find police auction cars in your city. Which one you choose depends on how much free time you have on you hands and you’re level of patience. Good luck!

Where Can I Buy a Car From a Police Auction and Save Money?
Executive Summary about Police Auction By Andrew Bicknell

Are you seriously thinking about buying a new or used car? If you are in the market to purchase a car and have made the rounds to the local dealerships and used car lots but have been put off by the prices and pushy car salesmen then it might be a good time to consider finding your next car from a police auction.

Of course if you’re like many people this raises the question, “where can I buy a car from a police auction?” That’s a good question because these types of car auctions aren’t generally heavily advertised.

If you have never attended a police auction before there is a good chance you know what one is. These types of auctions are held to help law enforcement agencies get rid of property that is seized due to criminal activities.

There are many people who have successfully purchased a nearly new or used car at a police auction, usually at a large discount.

If you are interested in local police auctions then it can be useful to check you local paper. The classified ads are a good place to start as many local police departments advertise their auction a week or so before the event takes place. If you live in a small town or city this tactic may not work because many small town police departments do not have the resources necessary to have an auction. Probably your best option for finding a police auction is going online. The internet has revolutionized the way information can be found and police auto auctions are no different.

What to Look For in a Vehicle Auction

Executive Summary about Vehicle Auction By Robert Darby

Vehicle auction venues are a great place to find a vehicle deals. There are several of vehicle auction venues - regular ones (standard auctions where vehicles are sold), government (seized or surplus government vehicles are sold), insurance (insurance companies sell damaged and rebuilt cars). Vehicle auction websites are also available. The most popular auction website that also holds vehicle auction stuff is eBay.

If you have decided to try your luck at a vehicle auction, there are some things you should know in advance. One thing that is of great importance is about the origin of the vehicles. Each vehicle should have a clear history available at the auctioneers. If you have decided to bid on a specific vehicle, it is best if you first check it and than decide if you still are eager to bid. Generally speaking all vehicles sold at auctions should be fine in terms of origin but you never know.

There are plenty of vehicles that look just fine but have serious problems.

The next tip highly applicable to vehicle auction buys is the price. The vehicle auction bids should be competitive so a price can reach sky-heights just by many participants bidding madly. Be careful when going to government auctions. Insurance vehicle auctions may also look like a bargain heaven but the situation there may turn into a nightmare easily. This type of vehicle auction venues offer cars that have been damaged by their owners to an extend that the insurance company has had to replace them with new. So it is likely that you will buy a rebuilt vehicle or one with serious problems.

Saving Money at a Seized Vehicle Auction
Executive Summary about Vehicle Auction By Andrew Bicknell

Owning a car is falls into two general categories; People who love their cars and people who view them simply as a form of transportation from point A to point B. So just what is a seized vehicle auction and why can you find such bargains at one?

There is another side to the seized car auction and those are vehicles that have been seized through local, state, and federal law agencies. When a vehicle is seized because of criminal activity “search and seizure” laws allow these agencies to sale them at auction to the highest bidder. You can find nearly new vehicles (cars, truck, suvs, boats, motorcycles) in excellent shape because many people who are involved in criminal activities drive some rather nice cars.

There are literally thousands of cars, truck, suvs, and other items repossessed and seized every month. So instead of paying to store these vehicles they turn them around quickly and sell them at auction, taking whatever the highest bidder is willing to pay.

Web based auction sites can provide you with a comprehensive listing of auctions happening all across the country. If you are in the market for a new car then you should give some serious consideration to learning more about how you can save money at a seized vehicle auction near you.

If you’ve done your research, by now you’ve found out that finding cars auctions can be a pain in the butt. The good news is that finding a car auction near you no longer has to be so nerve racking. Depending on your location, these auctions can take place once a year or every couple of months.

If you don’t feel like waiting that long and want to access to more than just one auction in your city, your best bet is to join a car auction membership site. Upon joining, you will gain instant access to thousands of cars auctions taking place around the country. They give you info on the car auction such as the date, time and location, as well as the cars they have for sale. This saves you a lot of time that would be spent looking through the newspaper everyday or call the police station.

In conclusion, finding cars auctions can be pain free if you know the right way to go about it. You can either browse the paper, call your police department or join a car auction database.

Can You Make Money at Public Car Auctions?
Executive Summary about Car Auctions By Joshua Rose

Many people go to public car auctions (the ones you don’t need a Dealer license for … anyone can go) in order to get a good deal on their next car. But the fact is that these auctions provide serious income possibilities as well.

While there are many older, higher mileage vehicles at these auctions that I personally am not particularly interested in, there’s almost always some hidden “gems” as well that are ideal for reselling. Profits on these sorts of vehicles are usually in the $1,000 to $3,000 range.

I either look for mid-priced vehicles with high demand and a reputation for quality (perhaps something like a Toyota Corolla) with average or lower mileage. Or, I go after vehicles that are nothing special as a make, but have very, very low mileage.

I’ll then target a buying price well below its trade-in value (you’ll be surprised how often you can be the winning bidder at a price like this). Perhaps a step-by-step example would be useful here.

The first thing I do is go to my data base of auctions and scout around at upcoming auctions in my area. For cheap, 7-year-old cars, this will be a huge selling point.

The listing also tells me that these are “government vehicles”. Well, that explains the mileage and now I’m super interested. The kicker is that government vehicles are usually extremely well maintained, so these are looking like prime examples of cars I can buy very cheaply and sell fast.

The next step is to set a purchase price target, so I need to get an accurate trade-in value. What I really want to find out is what Dealers are paying for them at the Dealer auctions … this is the real trade-in value. So I call the loan department of a local bank and ask them for a Manheim Market Report (MMR) price. Most banks worth their salt subscribe to this data. They tell me prices for ones in average condition have been selling at these auctions for around $2,200.

Now, the Cavaliers I’m interested in are way below average in mileage and would likely go for more than this at a Dealer auction. But because these are at a “public” auction, where prices are often lower, I will target a purchase price of no more than $1,400.

I see they have an average sales price of around $3,500, but they have two or three times the mileage. So, I’ll target a resale price of $3,400 and my vehicle will jump off the page at prospective car buyers. I go back to my auction data base (there’s more information about data bases at the end of this article) and I find another upcoming auction. There’s four 2002 Pontiac Trans Ams. Also very interesting is the fact that these are also listed as “government vehicles”. It’s very unlikely that these were used by a local government agency. I would then go through the same pricing process to determine my “no-more-than” purchase price and resale price.

If the actual bidding goes higher than I want to pay, I will simply walk away. I’ll stay unemotional and will only purchase when there’s a tremendous price advantage built in from the get go. There’s always other days, other auctions and many opportunities to cherry-pick the offerings.

One other issue is whether or not you need a Dealer’s license to resell vehicles. Each state has its own rules on how many vehicles you can sell before you need to get a license. Well, I hope this has helped you learn how to make money at your local public car auctions. Some people simply buy cheap cars for a few hundred dollars and resell them … and that’s fine too.

Executive Summary about Government Auction By Thomas W T

Government Car Auction

If you’re looking for a good deal in tools, trucks, cars and other types of items and online government auction is definitely the way to go. There are two basic ways that you can go about finding some incredible deals, the government auctions. Two of the most popular reasons for buying anything online is its convenience to build this go online and by and also that you usually can find low prices.

Many state government agencies are turning to the popular auction sites to liquidate their trucks and cars and other items. If you know how to do basic repairs of chips and little bit of bodywork, you can even turn it into a nice little side business.

Another way to find good deals with online government auctions is to visit the various different state agency web sites or contact them to find out when they’ll be liquidating their items online.

By contacting agencies directly, you can often time get the inside scoop and make even better purchases. The reason this works so well is that often times, you’ll be bidding against far less people.

How to Find Government Auction Listings
Executive Summary about Government Auction By Fernando Torres

The auctions listed there may not be Government sponsored or have any Government inventory, so read carefully. Usually Government auctions are more popular than private auctions because of the better quality of the inventory, so concentrate on finding these first.

In your newspaper classified section, you typically find private auctions and those held by lenders trying to unload their off-lease vehicles. Rental companies may also advertise in the paper when they want to get rid of their rental fleets. Contact your local chamber of commerce and other local Government agencies in your city and simply ask them to point you to their most current Government auction listings. Government offices are often convoluted and this type of information is not known to every office clerk. In some cases you may be denied the information if the auctions they hold are closed auctions. Meaning that they’re reserved for licensed auto retailers and other second hand merchandise businesses.

Government auto auctions are among the most popular because of the great condition that fleet and Government service vehicles are in. Don’t get discouraged about not getting this information from your local offices, you just have to talk to the right person and ask the right question.

By far the easiest way to get your hands on Government auction listings is to search in auction directories. This is a great advantage because the information is already collected and organized by state and zip code.

Executive Summary about Police Auctions By Albert Lee

Police Car Auctions

Police auctions are practical places to look for a good-condition car for a fraction of its value. Lots are usually a mix of some middle-aged cars and some newer models, most of which were impounded due to some violations committed by their drivers.

A lot of people who go to police auctions prefer impounded cars because they are somewhat assured that these vehicles were running right before they were seized by the police. Cars are usually taken off the road by police due to driver infractions. If you want to buy a decent car at a cheap price, police car auctions that include impounded cars are a great place to start.

First, call your local police department and find out when the auction will be held. If you’re buying from a registered auction houses, these hold auctions almost every week.

Only bids coming from registered bidders are recognized. While some auctions offer free registration, most require a nominal fee.

Give yourself time to check the impounded vehicles, so better arrive early. Bring your driver’s license and insurance proof, just in case you intend to drive the car home after winning a bid. Check with your locality since regulations regarding temporary permits vary.

Bring a price guide for used-cars. If you have a wireless laptop or a PDA, run the car’s vehicle identification number (VIN) through Carfax to check its history. Remember, this is a police impound car auction. Advantages of Police Impound Car Auctions

No, impounded cars are not violent criminal’s cars. They’re usually cars seized because of a DWLS (driving with license suspended) or a loan payment default. Impound car auctions are also a great place to find some really good branded cars, which would otherwise cost more at regular auctions.

Disadvantages

Impound car auctions attract a lot of people, not only because of the good price, but also because of the possibility of buying a good-condition, road-worthy vehicle. The best way to survive a police impound car auction is to do your homework and come prepared.

Tips for Buying Cheap Seized Cars at Police Auctions
Executive Summary about Police Auctions By Albert Lee

If you are aiming to buy second hand cars at very reasonable prices, you should consider getting into police seized car auctions.

Police seized car auctions are venues where cars that were legally seized from criminals and law offenders by the police are legally disposed to the public.

There are regular schedules for such car-selling transactions. Often, regular police seized car auctions are held every month, every quarter or every six months.

Some people are getting fond of shopping cars at such transactions because they get to acquire premium and branded cars at very discounted prices. The setback would only be that these cars are not brand new cars.

For people who value sentimentality and history of cars and car owners, and there are a few of them around, the transaction is definitely not for them. Because policed seized cars are usually possessed by the police from criminals and other law offenders.

Though the legality of ownership of these cars will never ever be questioned in the future, the fact that these cars were once used by criminals for criminal transactions never fail to hold back several second-hand car buyers.

Some, however, simply are practical and look at the better side of the transaction, and that is that these cars are significantly cheaper than other second hand car auctioned privately.

Tips when buying seized cars at police auctions

Buying police seized cars would never be a hassle if you would only bear in mind simple guidelines.

Second, bring along an expert or somebody very familiar with cars when you go the police seized car auction. Before shopping at a police seized car auction, make sure to set up your mind so that you would not be confused when you see numerous car models being sold at the auction.

When you finally have the car, register it appropriately.

Executive Summary about Vehicle Auctions By Sunil Tanna

In times of such uncertainty, people are always on the look out to save money, both in their household budgets, and in the unavoidable expenses which are necessary for everyday living.

One area in which you may be able to make big savings is when buying a new car or other motor vehicle. One of the best ways to save money when purchasing a new car, is too look at government and seized vehicle auctions. The vehicles in these auctions can come from a number of sources. Other vehicles that may be available include those confiscated from criminals by various law enforcement agencies, and vehicles repossessed by banks or lending institutions after the original owner failed to keep up their repayments.

These auctions can offer some tremendous savings on vehicles as compared to their book value - perhaps you’ll even be able to find a vehicle that you can purchase outright from your savings, rather than having to take on an expense loan (which of course requires paying back interest as well as the actual cost of the vehicle).

Government Vehicle Auctions Explained
Executive Summary about Vehicle Auctions By Jack Flinters

The US government is constantly seizing new cars and other vehicles from convicted criminals. A huge amount of luxury cars are being seized during raids on wealthy criminals like drug dealers and mobsters.

All these cars are only stored for a short while before they are sold at auctions across the country. At government vehicle auctions you can find any kind of car you can think of. Family cars, luxury vehicles, 4×4s, you name it. Only people who are at least 18 years old and have a valid drivers license can bid.

One disadvantage of government vehicle auctions if the fact that is that they require quite a bit of your time. You will have to locate the auction, register, take care of the paperwork etc.

However considering the incredible deals you can find at these auctions it is well worth the effort. If you are prepared to do some work government vehicle auctions are simply the best place to find cheap cars that are in great condition.

Repossessed Vehicle Auctions - 5 Facts You Should Know Before Bidding
Executive Summary about Vehicle Auctions By Albert Lee

Why do such repossessed vehicle auctions exist, and why are such vehicles sold at repossessed vehicle auctions? The answer is that local banks know that this is the only method by the bank can earn money from such vehicles. If prices are low and vehicles are many, then why should you still be cautious when bidding at repossessed vehicle auctions? Take note of the following facts before visiting repossessed vehicle auctions, and before you make repossessed vehicle auctions your main source for finding that car you need.

1. Not all repossessed vehicles are alike, and repossessed vehicle auctions will host a wide variety of vehicles that will have various warranties and functionality. This means that you have to deal with vehicles on a case by case basis, and look at each vehicle’s quality.

Make no assumptions at repossessed vehicle auctions. You will not be guaranteed a good car if the car next to it is attractive.

2. Repossessed vehicle auctions are not exactly known for their quality wares, especially since many of the vehicles up for bidding will be from a wide variety of places. Some vehicles may suffer from neglect, and may earn you more money if you sell it to a junk shop. Most repossessed vehicle auctions will not sell high quality cars, so if you are not willing to inspect a car before buying it, be prepared to shoulder the repairs it will most likely go through.

3. Although rare, some repossessed vehicle auctions will feature vehicles that belong to rather disgruntled, and sometimes careless owners. These owners may even be the vindictive type, and can sabotage the vehicle.

4. Older car models may not be up to today’s safety standards. Older cars may also be less fuel efficient than today’s cars, so be careful when purchasing such vehicles at repossessed vehicle auctions.

5. The same rule on contract signing applies to all cars, even those sold at auctions. If you want to participate in repossessed vehicle auctions, then consult with mechanics, former car owners, and even car dealers that you know.
